Our General Election campaign to elect a Labour MP in the Hexham Constituency has been launched and is reported on this week in the Hexham Courant.

Our Chair John Hanley said:

We (Labour) are getting a very encouraging reception on the doorstep.

Many people are very depressed about the current state of politics in our country. It is difficult to point to anything which is going well.

There is an appetite for change and voters are very receptive to the ideas now being clearly articulated by the Labour Party.

We will be out campaigning regularly and look forward to making the case for a Labour MP in Hexham constituency. It’s time for a change

Northumberland Labour Leader Scott Dickinson has said:

Hexham is desperate for new representation and from the people I have spoken to, want to have a fresh MP and to build on the hope Labour offers the country.

We are excited to be supporting the constituency campaign and look forward to talking to lots of local people and working with local Hexham Labour Party members on the campaign.

Our Election Priorities

Our focus is on building a better future for our communities and working to ensure that every individual has a fair chance in life. We are committed to building a society that works for everyone, not just a privileged few.

Our election campaign will focus on five key issues:

Jobs and the economy

We will focus on creating high-quality local jobs and promoting economic growth that benefits everyone.

Health and social care

We believe that everyone should have access to high-quality health and social care services. We will work to ensure proper funding for the NHS and social care services and believe that everyone should have access to the support and care they need.

Housing and homelessness

We will work to address the housing crisis and believe that everyone should have access to affordable and secure housing.

Education and skills

We believe that everyone should have opportunities to access high-quality education and develop their skills.

Environment and sustainability

We will work to protect the environment and ensure that our communities are sustainable by promoting renewable energy and taking action to tackle climate change.

We are confident that our message of equality and fairness will be heard by the voters of the Hexham Constituency. We will be talking to local residents and businesses to hear their thoughts and concerns

Let’s work together to build an brighter future and make a real difference!

Get Involved

Over the coming months there will be plenty of events and activities to get involved with. On Super Saturday (4th March) we’ll be door knocking in Hexham East. Other opportunities to get involved can be found on our events page and we will be out and about talking to voters right across the constituency.
