Members of the Hexham Constituency Labour Party were out in strength in Hexham East today.

Longstanding Hexham CLP member Keith Trobe was impressed by the turnout saying:

‘I have been an active Labour Party member since 1977 and outside of a General Election I have never before seen so many people with so much enthusiasm out campaigning for Labour and for a change of MP in the local area. This was reflected back at us by the great response on the doorstep

We were joined by Bill Esterson MP, Shadow Minister for Business and Industrial Strategy, who visited a local business and then came out canvassing with us. He even found time to give an interview to Hexham TV and the Hexham Courant!

Speaking to the Courant, Bill said:

“It was great to meet voters in Hexham. They are worried about the state of the NHS, crime and many other issues. Hexham Labour Party is running an impressive campaign to get a Labour MP elected and I wish them every success. A Labour MP would make a massive difference to the people of Hexham”

We listened to the concerns of residents and were met with much positivity for a change of government. Labour are on track to win in Hexham!

A Fairer, Greener Hexham

The people of Hexham are fed up with a Conservative MP whose actions and voting patterns in Westminster demonstrates a lack of real regard for the people of his constituency. Labour offers the only alternative: to build a greener, fairer Hexham and Britain, because we’re Stronger Together.
