There is a General Election coming. By January 2025 at the latest we will go to the polls to elect a new government. The Hexham CLP stands ready to fight this election whenever it is called.

Amongst other things this involves organising and supporting Joe Morris, our Prospective Parliamentary Candidate, canvassing and leafleting households and talking with the public in meetings, at street stalls and through social media about Labour’s views and policies. This is an important part of electioneering and occurs all the year round and not just at election time. We try to build detailed profiles of the way different areas and localities in the constituency are likely to vote and the issues that preoccupy people. This helps us in encouraging people to vote Labour at election time.

Perhaps you’d like to get involved in making a fairer, greener future with Labour?

When our Chair John Hanley launched our General Election campaign to elect a Labour MP in the Hexham Constituency he said:

We (Labour) are getting a very encouraging reception on the doorstep.

Many people are very depressed about the current state of politics in our country. It is difficult to point to anything which is going well.

There is an appetite for change and voters are very receptive to the ideas now being clearly articulated by the Labour Party.

We will be out campaigning regularly and look forward to making the case for a Labour MP in Hexham constituency. It’s time for a change

Northumberland Labour Leader Scott Dickinson has said:

Hexham is desperate for new representation and from the people I have spoken to, want to have a fresh MP and to build on the hope Labour offers the country.

We are excited to be supporting the constituency campaign and look forward to talking to lots of local people and working with local Hexham Labour Party members on the campaign.
